It was that trip that decided my fate as a not-so-famous, no-longer-a-child trombone player and I couldn’t be happier. When I got there, I must have tried out 5 different brass instruments (remember, reeds got nixed) before deciding that having a slide was BY FAR the most exciting thing I had come across, and that was that. ![best-boston-music-lessons](https://www.trombonelesson.com/hs-fs/hub/498127/file-2669053039.jpg?width=674&name=file-2669053039.jpg "best-boston-music-lessons") ---   ### Where you can trust: With these kinds of stakes, make sure you ensure the quality of your Boston area music store experience by hitting up these great local stores with various specialties. ## 1. [Rayburn Music](http://www.rayburnmusic.com/index.php) Yelp site [**here**](http://www.yelp.com/biz/rayburn-music-boston). ## 2. [Mr. Music Guitar Center](http://www.mrmusicguitars.com/) Yelp site [**here**](http://www.yelp.com/biz/mr-music-allston). ## 3. [Steve Morrill Guitar Repair](http://stevemorrillguitarrepair.com/)  Yelp site [**here**](http://www.yelp.com/biz/steve-morrill-guitar-repair-boston). ## 4. [Guitar Stop](http://www.guitarstop.com/) Yelp site [**here**](http://www.yelp.com/biz/guitar-stop-cambridge). ## 5. [Mass Ave. Music](http://www.massavemusic.com/) Yelp site [**here**](http://www.yelp.com/biz/mass-ave-music-cambridge-2). ## 6. [Boston Guitar Repair Center](http://www.bostonguitarrepaircenter.com/)  Yelp site [**here**](http://www.yelp.com/biz/boston-guitar-repair-center-boston). --- ### **DIDN'T LIST YOUR OWN FAVORITE MUSIC STORE?** Get in touch or post a comment below and keep the conversation going!   ---   Topics: [instrumental stores](https://www.trombonelesson.com/blog/topic/instrumental-stores) ![Diana Liechty](https://www.trombonelesson.com/hs-fs/hub/498127/file-2648206040.png?width=100&height=100&name=file-2648206040.png) #### Written by [Diana Liechty](https://www.trombonelesson.com/blog/author/diana-liechty) Brassy Bone Trombone Teacher in Boston, Cambridge, and Somerville [[fa icon="facebook-square"]](https://www.facebook.com/trombonelessons) [[fa icon="twitter-square"]](https://twitter.com/trombonediana) ### Subscribe to Email Updates - Recent - Popular - Categories ### Lists by Topic - [learning music (2)](https://www.trombonelesson.com/blog/topic/learning-music) - [learning trombone (2)](https://www.trombonelesson.com/blog/topic/learning-trombone) - [competitive instruments (1)](https://www.trombonelesson.com/blog/topic/competitive-instruments) - [events (1)](https://www.trombonelesson.com/blog/topic/events) - [getting into college (1)](https://www.trombonelesson.com/blog/topic/getting-into-college) - [greater boston music (1)](https://www.trombonelesson.com/blog/topic/greater-boston-music) - [how to find a music teacher (1)](https://www.trombonelesson.com/blog/topic/how-to-find-a-music-teacher) - [how to find new music (1)](https://www.trombonelesson.com/blog/topic/how-to-find-new-music) - [instrumental stores (1)](https://www.trombonelesson.com/blog/topic/instrumental-stores) - [jazz (1)](https://www.trombonelesson.com/blog/topic/jazz) - [music festivals (1)](https://www.trombonelesson.com/blog/topic/music-festivals) - [music news (1)](https://www.trombonelesson.com/blog/topic/music-news) - [music teacher (1)](https://www.trombonelesson.com/blog/topic/music-teacher) - [parents of musicians (1)](https://www.trombonelesson.com/blog/topic/parents-of-musicians) [see all](https://www.trombonelesson.com/blog/best-boston-area-instrumental-music-store#) ### Follow BrassyBone! #### About Us Learn with an energetic and flexible teacher in Cambridge and Somerville in addition to Boston.
